Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent – the church season for reflection and prayer, as we prepare for Easter. It’s a time to remember that everything we possess, even our life, does not last forever. “You are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19). As the Companion to the Book of Common Worship reminds us, “The liturgies throughout Lent try to pry loose our fingers, one by one, from presumed securities and plunge us into unknown baptismal waters, waters that turn out to be not only our death tomb but surprisingly our womb of life,” carrying us toward Easter through God’s grace.
We hope these Lenten meditations will help you in your journey of contemplation and preparation, as we consider God’s merciful and gracious gift in Jesus Christ. Download by clicking on the link below.
