David Fuentes, Oakhurst’s Youth Director, earned an M.Div from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2014, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship, the Community Engagement Fellowship, and the William Rivers Waddey Award for Youth Ministry. He has also worked in politics and has over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents in youth ministry and social work. He is the co-chair for Presbyterians for a Better Georgia (the advocacy and public policy partnership in the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta). He enjoys tennis, sports, yard work, and deep conversation with youth about current social issues. If he’s not at the church, you can probably find him at the capital. David grew up in Athens, GA, and married Jean Wilson-Stayton Fuentes in August 2014. They share their home with a dog, Frida.
