Matt Wauchope is a musician who has lived in Atlanta for the last 18 years. He studied music at Florida State before graduating from UGA. After college, he toured and recorded with Sean Costello, traveling through 48 states, Western Europe, and Scandanavia. Playing in Sean’s band allowed him the opportunity to play with blues legends such as Jody Williams, Hubert Sumlin, Pinetop Perkins, and James Cotton, in addition to rock stars Donnie McCormick and Elvis Costello. He is playing on three of Sean’s CDs in addition to numerous local sessions, including with the Grammy Award winning Blind Boys of Alabama. In addition to directing the Chancel Choir at Oakhurst, Matt teaches piano and plays with numerous local groups, including the Mar-Tans, his own jazz trio, and ragtime artist Blair Crimmins.
