Oakhurst Presbyterian Church is seeking the next person God is calling to lead our community, following the retirement of our pastor of 34 years. As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), we follow a deliberate, prayerful process established by our denomination. Click here to view or download a detailed outline of the steps required to call a new minister.
The Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) began its search in late May 2017 and is currently completing the Ministry Information Form (MIF), which it hopes to finalize by early December. The MIF is a detailed outline of the requirements for the position, including the church’s mission and vision for the future, and draws upon work by our Momentum Team and congregational survey from last year. It will be used to help match our congregation with appropriate candidates.
Once the MIF is completed, it will be submitted to our session and presbytery for approval. Once it is approved, it will be sent to the denomination’s Church Leadership Connection, where we will be matched with applicants and can begin a review of candidates.
Check this page for additional updates. Please direct PNC-specific questions to Loretta Jefferson, Moderator of the PNC, or to one of the committee members: Alan Ashe, Kathy Hill, Andrew Marti, Ann Starks, Craig Wilson, or Jami Moss Wise. Although Pastor Leigh is not on the committee, she is available to answer questions about the process.
Please pray for the PNC as they work to discern God’s call.
