Join us for our annual celebration of Black History Month, a time when we are reminded of those generations who worked – and continue to work – to fulfill God’s promise of justice and freedom.
Black History Month will be taught this year in everyone’s normal Sunday school class. Each class will be using an age-appropriate curriculum called “Freedom to Make a Difference.” Children will explore how to make a difference in the world. Adults will learn about Freedom Schools in the United States. Sunday School begins at 10:00.
We’ll also celebrate in worship with these events.
Conundrums African drumming ensemble (featuring member Safiyah Pankey).
Rev. Sylvia Wilson, recently returned from Kenya, preaching; Boy Scout Sunday. Boy Scouts will worship with us.
Ash Wednesday Service, 7:00 PM. Lenten devotional booklets will be provided for the congregation.
Rev. Aisha Brooks-Lytle, our brand-new Executive Presbyter of the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta, preaching.
Freedom Schools classes will create banners to share with the congregation.
